CASE STUDY

Welland Canal Stair Tower Access

Riverson Scaffolding created safe access to a hydro intake/outtake shaft by erecting a secured stair tower and installing an overhead protection platform to shield workers from falling debris.

Project Details

Our client needed temporary engineered access to the bottom of the canal where the entrance to the hydro in take/out take shaft is located. The crew had to take a crane man basket down to the bottom and the crane lifted our required gear down into the canal where we erected the stair tower. The scaffold had to be tied into the canal wall as per the drawings. An overhead protection platform was installed from the stair to the hydro shaft to protect the workers from debris falling from the overhead bridge.
